What Is a Brow Lift?
A brow lift elevates the forehead and eyebrows, smoothing out lines and opening up the eyes for a more youthful, alert appearance. Reza Bolourian, M.D., F.A.C.S., specializes in performing brow lifts using a minimally invasive endoscopic approach, accessing the tissues of the upper face via tiny incisions. This means you can achieve a beautifully smoothed and lifted forehead with a shorter recovery time and no visible scarring.
Endoscopic Brow Lift
In most cases, Dr. Bolourian will recommend an endoscopic brow lift. In this technique, tiny incisions created in the scalp allow for the introduction of a high-tech camera-guided scope. Dr. Bolourian lifts the forehead and places a tiny fixation screw using the endoscopic device. This approach has the advantage of a reduced recovery time and no scarring along the hairline.
Coronal Brow Lift
The traditional version of a brow lift is the coronal brow lift (aka, pretrichial brow lift). In this procedure, your surgeon creates an incision at the top of the forehead along the hairline, providing access to the forehead area. Dr. Bolourian generally favors the endoscopic approach, but in certain cases, a coronal brow lift might be the better option. He will assess your individual needs and goals to determine which procedure is best for you.
Temporal Brow Lift
Many people notice rounding or hooding of the corners of the eyes. This means there may be drooping of the most lateral part of the eyebrows. A temporal or lateral brow lift takes advantage of a small incision hidden in the hairline. A specifically designed instrument is then used to elevate the tail of the eyebrows. The temporal brow lift approach is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that will provide a youthful “fox tail” brow appearance.
